The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is an executive non-departmental public
body of the Department of Health. It was established in 2009 to regulate and inspect health and social care services in England.
What does this mean?
Amongst other clinical services, the CQC inspect general practices all over the United Kingdom. This surgery will be having an inspection shortly.
There are five areas and questions which they look at during the inspection:
- 1. Is it safe?
- 2. is it responsive?
- 3. Is it effective?
- 4. Is it caring?
- 5. Is it well led?
If you would like any information about what this involves and how you can be part of it, please contact our practice manager on the number to the
left and we will be more than happy to let you know.
We currently have a patient feedback postbox at our reception whoch has been provided by the CQC. This is over and above the Friends and Family Tests
that so many of you have kindly completed so please take a moment to pop down to the surgery to complete one of these so the inspectors can hear your thoughts about us!
Please also note that our Patient Participation group is still going strong so if you would like to be part of this, please contact us and we can
give you further information.
